Welcome to Concord

Arguably one of the most historically significant towns in America, Concord was the site of one of the Revolutionary War’s first battles. It was at Concord’s Old North Bridge where minutemen from Concord and the surrounding towns surprised the British and fired the “Shot heard round the world.” During the 19th Century, Concord was home to some of the most influential writers in American literature including Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Louisa May Alcott. Today, Concord maintains its historic character and remains devoted to the arts. Concord’s vibrant downtown and West Concord Village offers shops and restaurants, while its school system is consistently ranked among the top in the state. Close proximity to Routes 2, 128/95 and 495 provide easy commuting, while Concord’s two commuter rail stations offer daily service to Boston’s North Station.
